Verity Watson – Manager of Regulatory Strategy at United Energy has submitted a response to the DOI consultation paper ‘cost benefit assessment of the demand response mechanism’ consultation paper on behalf of the company. In her letter she stated “In broad terms, United Energy is supportive of any measure that is reasonably expected to deliver net benefits to the National Electricity Market as a whole, by encouraging efficient demand side participation.” and went on to say “United Energy therefore strongly supports the COAG Energy Council’s decision to commission a detailed cost – benefit analysis of the DRM, especially in light of the change in market circumstances since the completion of the Power of Choice Review in 2012.”
