On behalf of Stanwell Corporation, Tanya Mills has sent this response to the Department of Industry regarding the Oakley Greenwood ‘cost benefit assessment of the demand response mechanism’ consultation paper. In the one-page response, Tanya stated “Given the short consultation period, Stanwell is unable to give a fully considered response to each of the 63 questions”. She did however outline the high level concerns outlined below:
Much of the data requested is commercial in confidence data which will be difficult for retailers including Stanwell to share with Oakley Greenwood
Much of the data requested will be complex and time consuming to obtain, if it can be obtained at all
As demand response is already provided under various arrangements and there appears to be no regulatory barrier preventing users from supplying demand response, it is unclear how Oakley Greenwood will be able to forecast additional demand response which will occur as a result of the DRM.
