Bigger picture analysis of the proposed ‘Centralised Negawatt Dispatch Mechanism’

Yesterday on WattClarity, Paul McArdle wrote out some of his thoughts on whether the AEMC’s proposed centralised Negawatt dispatch mechanism (A.K.A. wholesale demand response mechanism) is a step in the right direction in the context of the bigger energy transition.

The original draft ruling was made on 18th of July 2019 as we noted here, with submissions to the draft determination closing on the 12th of September. A summary of stakeholder submissions to the proposed rule change can be found on the AEMC website.
