Aurora Energy (now TasNetworks) have released their 2013 annual report which outlines the development of a Tasmanian Smart Network. The implementation plan for the Smart Network runs over a 10-year period, but significant supporting initiatives are already under way which there will be an immediate focus over the next three years. One of these initiatives that support the Smart Network is the trialling the management of residential demand through load control of domestic hot water systems.
The report goes on to state “A statewide load survey of commercial and industrial customers
that commenced this year is providing the starting point for the development of a commercial and industrial demand management program that is scheduled to begin during the 2014 calendar year.”
